Welcome to the Castle - Llandovery.
The Castle has recently been completely renovated and refurbished by us – we are a small, family run business called ‘Taste Inn Wales’.
For centuries the Castle has been at the heart of the thriving historic Welsh market town Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, on the western fringes of the Brecon Beacons. Llandovery (or Llanymddyfri which means "Church amongst the Water").
In the best traditions of a Welsh coaching inn it has always been a place for travellers and visitors to rest, to replenish and recharge their batteries. It still is today. Probably more important than ever, we all need a place to unwind and remember the things that matter.
A warm and friendly place to unwind, you’ll find a proper traditional bar, roaring log fire to toast your toes and plenty of comfy sofas in which to lose yourself with a good book.
The original rustic charm and character is still there, but we’ve added a few modern, fresh ideas.
We love food. If you do, you’ll like it here. We guarantee you will enjoy some seriously good cooking by our talented kitchen team. Those tempting aromas wafting through the building are likely to be from our new Josper charcoal oven (a very clever indoor BBQ and chargrill) the ultimate way of expressing our philosophy ~ ‘Keep it real, honest and simple’
